EMITO FOUNDATION

EMITO Foundation is the primary philanthropic arm of Wazobia African Market. It is a vehicle which we use to invest in the well-being of our community, increase confidence for those in need and hope for a better future. Over the years, we have strived to provide in various ways to lend our support financially and in-kind to communities in need. Moreover, it is an honor to serve and further our mission to open doors of equity in the community.

Since the inception of EMITO Foundation in 2019, it has awarded funding for educational and economic development to support sustainable community initiatives in the local Houston area. We believe that community starts at home to pave the way for generational change. The EMITO Foundation is more than just philanthropy but aims to strengthen positive impact in the local communities.

About the Founder

Mr. Ayotunde Fasina is an entrepreneur and founder of Wazobia African Market Inc and Distribution. He founded Wazobia African Market in June 2013 with deep interest and focus on customer service satisfaction; the organization became the most popular and fast growing authentic African grocery store across the state of Texas. Recently, Wazobia African Market added to its chain, a second outlet in Southwest Houston to gain a higher reach with the African community in Houston. Fasina has over fifteen years of grocery business experience and more than two decades of retail involvement which he inherited from his grandmother when he was twelve years old. Tunde is a philanthropist that enjoys giving back to the community.
Over the years, Mr. Fasina has become an influencer and regularly shares his life lessons, business practices, trade secrets, and unrelenting spirit of generosity as it relates to leading others. He is a firm believer in the success of the African community and relentlessly supports African owned businesses.
